Do Hunter controllers work with normally closed or normally open valves?

Zone valves are almost always normally closed (NC): they open only when 24 VAC is applied. Master valves on potable mains are also typically NC. Normally open valves are uncommon in landscape irrigation and require a different control strategy—verify the valve body before wiring.
