Warm vs Cool LED Outdoors: Pick a Temperature and Stick to It

Hunter Irrigation Supply·

Residential landscape work almost always looks better in warm white — roughly 2700K to 3000K. It flatters brick, stone, and planting. Cool white has a place on contemporary commercial façades and security-focused side yards, not on a craftsman porch.

If the house already has warm porch sconces, match them. Fighting the architecture with icy LED is a fast way to get a change-order for "make it less blue."

When replacing old halogen FX-compatible runs, check the new LED modules' CCT before you leave the shop. Packaging looks similar; the night look does not.
