Soft Wall Wash on Stone: FX Optics That Do Not Flatten Texture

Stone and brick need grazing light to keep texture. Place FX wash or spot fixtures close enough to the wall that the beam rakes the surface, or pull back with a softer optic if you want even wash without sparkle.

Avoid mounting so far away that the beam hits square-on — that is how façades go flat and chalky in photos.
