FX Brass vs Composite: Where Each Finish Belongs
Hunter Irrigation Supply·

FX brass fixtures age into the landscape and take knocks from string trimmers better than thin aluminum. They cost more up front and usually win on 10-year cost for primary elevations.
Composite bodies make sense on investment properties and HOA common areas where theft or vandalism is a real risk — replacing a damaged composite path light hurts less than replacing cast brass.
Spec by zone of the property, not by habit. Mixing brass at the entry and composite on a far fence line is normal; mixing three finishes on one walk is not.
